This unit is a review of current first aid and CPR guidelines, legal and workplace responsibilities, and safe procedures for managing incidents. Learners will understand risk minimisation, infection control, consent, and emergency response processes, including the use of AEDs and CPR techniques for different age groups. It also covers recognising and managing a range of medical emergencies such as anaphylaxis, asthma, bleeding, cardiac conditions, choking, shock, and stroke.

Course duration - online 2-3hours, face-to-face 6 hours

Certificate expiry - HLTAID010 3 years, HLTAID009 1 year

Prerequisites - Nil, but students must be able to complete 2 minutes/5 cycles of CPR
