HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting
This unit outlines the essential knowledge and procedures for providing first aid to infants and children, in accordance with ARC and national clinical guidelines, as well as education and care regulations. It includes infection control, CPR and AED use, legal and ethical responsibilities, and management of a wide range of childhood illnesses and injuries. Learners will understand how to recognise serious conditions, follow emergency action plans, and use age-appropriate communication and care techniques.
Course duration - online and face-to-face (6 hours)
Certificates obtained - HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011, HLTAID012, 22578VIC & 22556VIC
Certificate expiry - HLTAID011/HLAID012 3 years, HLTAID009 1 year
Prerequisites - Nil, but students must be able to complete 2 minutes/5 cycles of CPR

Minimum course size is 6 people, maximum 30 people
