This unit covers comprehensive first aid knowledge aligned with ARC and national clinical guidelines, workplace procedures, and legal requirements. It includes infection control, risk management, CPR and AED use, medication administration responsibilities, and assessment of casualties across different age groups and conditions. Learners will understand how to manage a wide range of medical emergencies, injuries, and environmental situations, while maintaining personal safety, accurate documentation, and emotional well-being.

Certificates obtained - HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011 & HLTAID014

Certificate expiry - HLTAID011 3 years, HLTAID009 1 year

Prerequisites - Nil, but students must be able to complete 2 minutes/5 cycles of CPR
