Parent Preparedness

This unit covers advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy procedures in line with ARC guidelines, focusing on managing life-threatening bleeding, unconscious casualties, and CPR for all ages. It includes safe handling of oxygen equipment, infection control, legal and ethical responsibilities, and correct use of airway adjuncts, suction devices, and AEDs. Learners will understand how to assess vital signs, maintain equipment, minimise risks, and manage the psychological effects of providing first aid.

Course duration - online (approx 4 hours) and face-to-face (5 hours)

Certificates obtained - HLTAID009 & HLTAID015

Certificate expiry - both 1 year

Prerequisites - HLTAID011, students must be able to complete 2 minutes/5 cycles of CPR and complete the online learning

Minimum course size is 6 people, maximum 30 people
